I met Julia a few years ago at a breakfast meeting for textile workers (as we call ourselves), where I discovered her project, Costuras Chocochips, which I thought was wonderful. Quilting is a technique I've always admired, requiring a lot of dedication, love, and good taste, which is why her work is unparalleled. In addition to her sewing studio, Julia has just launched a women's cultural magazine, La Abominable , a gem of illustrations, animations, and texts.
